"Coffee Break" altered project for Lindy's gang

Hi my dear crafty friends,

I have a special honour today to be a guest desginer over at Lindy's gang blog. It's such a happy occasion for me! Those who know my work a bit know that I love to make off the page projects. And I love to create stories with them! I tried to do the same with my today's project. I altered a coffee maker which we weren't using anymore and added a cup of coffee and some cupcakes and sweets, all mixed media made. There is everything one needs for a perfect relaxed afternoon with friends.

I first made a coffee maker which I covered with white gesso and white crackle paste. I colored it with several coats of Lindy's Starburst sprays, you can find in their online shop:
- Icy Primrose Gold for the first coat,
- Cocklebells Coral for some shading here and there,
- Bratwurst Brown Magical Shaker and Cajun Carnelian Red Magical to emphasize some parts.

The coffee cup is colored with my favourite shades of Lindy's:
- Sassy Sapphire for the base coat
- Tibetan Poppy Teal for some highlights.

I used a bit lighter shade of blue for the cupcake trays - TiffanyLou Blue.
I found Creme Brulee Cream Starburst perfect for coloring of my whipped cream on top of the cupcakes and coffee. And I used Bayou Boogie Gold Magical for the batter and Bratwurst Brown Magical Shaker for the coffee. The coffee stains on the tray are made with Bratwurst Brown Magical Shaker mixed with some gel medium and some white texture paste and applied through a stencil. I've also added some additional color to the paper flowers, because I wanted them to match perfectly with the rest of the project. I used Bayou Boogie Gold for the yellow roses and Cajun Carnelian red for the orange roses.

In this project I paired amazing Lindy's with another amazing product - Graphic 45 papers. The Cafe Parisian collection was just perfect for the occasion.

There is a detailed video tutorial available on my youtube channel so you can follow through if you'd like to. :) I hope you'll like my project and that it maybe inspires you somehow!

Have a great day!
Hugs, Aleksandra

"The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives" mixed media canvas

Hi my dear crafty friends,

Today I'm with you again, this time with mixed media canvas... Well instead of a canvas I used decorative pannel this time. The structure fitted perfectly to this month's Mixed media & Art moodboard which was the inspiration behind this project.

I used gorgeous Bob n' Betty papers from three different collections: "Bare Essentials" collection  papers - They are absolutely perfect for mixed media layouts. There was one particular set of papers in this gorgeous collction that I just fell in love with right away. So I decided to use it for the background of my today's mixed media canvas. I've also added a woodgrain paper from "Cottage Blush" collection on top of it and used some Decoupage papers from "Imperial" collection behind my photo. They are not supposed to be used like this, but they fitted perfectly so why not right? Mixed media is all about experimenting.

You can find all of the Bob n' Betty papers in their online store. Feel welcome to visit!

I' ve also used lots of Lindy's gang product for coloring: Tibetan Poppy Teal, Time Travel Teal Starburst sprays, Landlubber Green Moon Shadow Mist, Bratwurst Brown Magical Shaker for coloring rusty chipboards and Sassy Sapphire Embossing powder.

And of course there is lots of gorgeous Scrapiniec chipboards used and some gorgeous Prima flowers.

For the project I was inspired by two challenges - Mixed media & Art November Challenge "Mysterious" with its sketch, background, where I used sculptured wall pannel instead of a canvas, colors and some plexi glass pannel on top of it (hanging bottles on the moodboard), paper staples and some rusty elements.

I was also inspired by this month's More than words challenge, where the inspirations is woodgrain pattern and outdoors theme. I used woodgrain patterned paper, some forest wood and outdoors picture and a quote.

Hope you'll like my project and see you soon again!
Hugs, Aleksandra
